Vyne — Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Vyne ("the App") is a personal life-organization app. This page explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and how you can control or remove it. Vyne is developed and operated by an independent developer, not a company.

What Vyne collects

Vyne is built to work fully offline. Everything you create — categories, branches, habits, notes, due dates, amounts — is stored locally on your device by default. Nothing leaves your device unless you turn on Cloud Backup, or export a backup file yourself (see "Local backup files" below).

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or browsing activity, and we never ask for your real name. A profile name is part of the content you create: it stays on your device, and reaches our servers only if you turn on Cloud Backup. As of the date above, Vyne shows no ads and uses no advertising SDKs. If that ever changes — for example, if we add ads or a paid subscription — we'll update this policy to describe the new data practices before the change takes effect.

Crash and performance diagnostics

Vyne uses Sentry, a third-party crash-reporting service, to help us find and fix bugs. When the app runs into an error, Sentry receives technical details about it — things like the error message, which screen it happened on, basic device/app info (device model, OS version, app version), and an anonymous identifier for your device so we can tell how many different devices hit the same issue. It also keeps a short record of your most recent taps in the app, purely so we can see what led up to a crash. This data is not linked to your name or email, and Sentry does not use it for advertising or for its own purposes — only to help us diagnose problems.

Notifications

Vyne can send local reminders (due-date alerts, an optional once-a-day habit check-in) directly from your device. These are scheduled on-device and never involve sending your data to a server.

Calendar

If you tap "Add to Calendar" on a due date, Vyne opens your phone's own calendar app to create that one event. Vyne does not read, scan, or store your existing calendar entries.

Local backup files

Vyne can export all of your data as a single backup file, and you choose which profiles go into it. The file is created on your device and handed to your phone's own share sheet, so it goes wherever you send it — email, a cloud drive, another app. We never receive a copy and cannot read it. Importing a backup only ever adds profiles; it never overwrites or deletes what is already on your device.

How your data is protected

Cloud-stored data is scoped to your account only — access rules on our database ensure no one else, including us, can read another user's data through the app. Cloud backups are held on Google Cloud servers in the United States, so if you use Cloud Backup from outside the US your data is transferred there. Local data is protected by your device's own app sandboxing.

Sharing with third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. The third-party processors involved are Google Firebase, which stores your backup data on our behalf, and Sentry, which receives crash and diagnostic data as described above — both under the terms above, and neither uses your data for its own purposes.

Deleting your data

If you use Cloud Backup, you can permanently delete your account and cloud-stored data any time from the More tab → Cloud Backup → "Delete My Account & Cloud Data," right in the app; the button appears there once you are signed in. There is no waiting period — it takes effect immediately. We keep cloud data only for as long as your account exists, and we keep no separate archive of our own. You can also email us at the address below and we'll delete it for you. Uninstalling the app removes all data stored locally on your device immediately.

Children

Vyne is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under that age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change accordingly. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
